Blackalls Park started as a quiet rail-stop settlement named for the pharmacist Blackall family, once answering to Blackall Platform. That history sits in the pipes.
Census figures put the suburb at just over 1,000 dwellings, with 88.5% of them separate houses. Much of that stock goes back to the weatherboard and fibro decades on the flat ground near the bay.
